Florida Pharmacist: CE & renewal requirements
30 CE contact hours every 2 years
Biennial — licenses expire September 30 of the renewal year.
Source: Florida Board of Pharmacy (Dept. of Health) · confirmed 2026-06. Requirements change — always verify with the board.
Required topics
- 2 hrs Medication Errors — every renewal
- 2 hrs Controlled Substances — every renewal
- 1 hr HIV/AIDS — first renewal (one-time)
- +3 hrs immunization if you're immunization-certified
First renewal & exemptions
A first renewal under 12 months covers only the mandatory topics; 12+ months requires 15 hours including them.
If your license lapses
Non-renewal makes the license delinquent, then null and void; practicing is prohibited.
How CE is tracked
Reported electronically via CE Broker (Florida's official system); ACPE-accredited providers upload directly.
Watch out: Florida tracks via CE Broker, and your mandatory medication-error and controlled-substance hours recur EVERY renewal — keep them current there.
