Required topics

First renewal & exemptions

Your FIRST renewal requires 45 hours of FREC-approved Post-Licensing education (with an exam), NOT the 14-hr CE. Active Florida Bar members are exempt from the 14-hr CE.

If your license lapses

Missing the first-renewal 45-hr post-license course makes the license null & void (re-qualify from scratch). For later renewals, missing CE makes you involuntarily inactive; inactive over 24 months voids the license.

How CE is tracked

A DBPR-approved provider reports your completion electronically; renew online at MyFloridaLicense.com.

Watch out: The first-renewal 45-hr post-license course is pass-or-perish — failing to finish it voids your license entirely, with no 'inactive' cushion. Don't confuse it with the recurring 14-hr CE.
