Required topics

First renewal & exemptions

No CPE in your first year of licensure; licensees age 70+ are exempt; new licensees 1–2 years before first renewal owe 40 hours.

If your license lapses

If CPE isn't completed by the period's end, the license expires and must be reinstated.

How CE is tracked

Self-certify at renewal via Georgia Online Licensing; keep records 5 years for audit.

Watch out: Cycle ends Dec 31 of ODD years (not a personal anniversary). Up to 15 excess hours carry over, but carryover can't satisfy the 20-hour annual minimum or the ethics/technical minimums.
