5 hrs Ethics (must be synchronous/live)
At least 15 'core' hours and no more than 15 'related' hours

First renewal & exemptions

Asynchronous CE is capped at 10 hours and independent study at 5 hours; neither ethics nor core hours may come from independent study.

If your license lapses

Late renewal is allowed Oct 1–31 of even years; after Oct 31 the license must be reinstated (not simply renewed).

How CE is tracked

Self-attest at renewal via the GOALS portal; keep documentation for audit. Any ASWB-approved provider is accepted.

Watch out: Ethics hours MUST be synchronous (live) — self-study ethics doesn't count — and the 15 core / 15 related split is an easy compliance trap.
