Georgia Pharmacist: CE & renewal requirements

30 CE contact hours every 2 years

Biennial — licenses expire December 31 of even-numbered years.

Source: Georgia State Board of Pharmacy · confirmed 2026-06. Requirements change — always verify with the board.

First renewal & exemptions

Prorated for new licensees by when in the cycle you're licensed (those licensed in the second half of year 2 are exempt that biennium).

If your license lapses

Late renewal is accepted through January 31 with a late fee; not renewed by Jan 31 → the license is administratively revoked and must be reinstated.

How CE is tracked

ACPE-accredited providers; audit-based — keep certificates 2 years. CPE Monitor tracks ACPE hours.

Watch out: Georgia mandates no specific CE topics — all 30 can be general approved CE — but watch the proration for new licensees and the hard Jan 31 revocation cutoff.
