Georgia Real Estate Salesperson: CE & renewal requirements

36 CE contact hours every 4 years

Every 4 years; expires the last day of your birth month. Renewable up to 120 days early.

Source: Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) · confirmed 2026-06. Requirements change — always verify with the board.

Required topics

First renewal & exemptions

First renewal: the required 25-hour Post-License course (due in your first year of licensure) counts for 9 of the 36 hours.

If your license lapses

A lapsed license can't be used; reinstate within about 2 years with back CE plus fees, or risk having to re-license.

How CE is tracked

Approved providers report completions to GREC electronically; renew online.

Watch out: The 25-hour Post-License course is a hard first-YEAR deadline separate from renewal — miss it and the license is terminated (not just lapsed), even though renewal isn't due for years.
