Michigan Pharmacist: CE & renewal requirements
30 CE contact hours every 2 years
Biennial, on your license anniversary date.
Source: Michigan Board of Pharmacy (LARA) · confirmed 2026-06. Requirements change — always verify with the board.
Required topics
- 1 hr combined pharmacy ethics & law
- 1 hr Pain & symptom management
- 2 hrs Implicit bias
- At least 10 of 30 hours live/synchronous
First renewal & exemptions
New pharmacists generally don't need CE before their first renewal.
If your license lapses
Practicing on a lapsed license is prohibited; reinstatement procedures and fees apply.
How CE is tracked
Self-attest in MiPLUS; CE auto-reports via CPE Monitor where supported; keep certificates for audit.
Watch out: The 'ethics AND law' is a single combined hour (not two), implicit bias is a separate Michigan-wide mandate, and you can't earn more than 12 hours in any 24-hour period.
