Nevada Registered Nurse: CE & renewal requirements

30 CE contact hours every 2 years

Biennial — 30 contact hours each cycle (a contact hour is 60 minutes).

First renewal & exemptions

Your first renewal after graduation is exempt from the 30 hours, but you must still complete the one-time 4-hr bioterrorism and the 4-hr cultural-competency courses.

If your license lapses

You can't practice on an expired license; CE gaps found on audit can block renewal or lead to discipline.

How CE is tracked

Attest at the Nevada Nurse Portal; random audits — keep certificates.
