17 CE contact hours every year

- 2 hrs Opioid/controlled-substance abuse — every 2 years (counts within the 17)
First renewal & exemptions
New licensees are exempt during their first year.

Failing CE can bring disciplinary action; practicing on an expired license violates state law.
How CE is tracked
Self-attest on the annual renewal; keep certificates 4 years.
Watch out: Caps: max 5 hrs non-interactive, max 5 hrs practice management, max 3 hrs self-study — the rest must be live; up to 17 surplus hours carry to the next year.
